The fifth conference on Liquid Matter will take place in 2002 at the University of Konstanz, Germany. The meeting is organized by the Liquids Section of the Condensed Matter Division of the European Physical Society.

The conference will start on Saturday, September 14, 2002 and finish on Wednesday, September 18.

The conference will consist of plenary lectures, topical symposia and poster sessions. Contributed papers will be presented as posters. A limited number of contributed papers will be selected for oral presentation within the symposia.

The second circular, to be mailed in December 2001, will give a list of invited plenary and symposia speakers, a call for papers and information on social events and registration for the conference and for accommodation.
